Job Description

The Senior High School Teacher I (Sports Track) is responsible for teaching specialized subjects in the Sports Track for Grades 11–12. This role develops students’ athletic skills, physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship while preparing them for higher education, employment, or entrepreneurship in sports-related fields. Instruction is aligned with DepEd’s K–12 curriculum standards and promotes holistic learner development.


Key Responsibilities

Instructional Delivery

  1. Prepare and deliver lessons in core Sports Track subjects such as Safety and First Aid, Human Movement, Fitness Training, Sports Officiating, Coaching, and Sports Science.
  2. Conduct practical training sessions, drills, and performance-based activities.
  3. Integrate theory and practice to build both knowledge and athletic competence.

Classroom & Field Management

  1. Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment in classrooms, gyms, and sports fields.
  2. Manage sports equipment and facilities responsibly.
  3. Promote discipline, teamwork, and respect among learners.

Assessment & Evaluation

  1. Design and administer performance-based assessments, skill demonstrations, and written evaluations.
  2. Provide constructive feedback to support athletic and academic growth.
  3. Maintain accurate records of student progress in compliance with DepEd policies.

Student Development

  1. Mentor students in developing athletic skills, leadership, and sportsmanship.
  2. Guide learners in preparing for competitions, tournaments, and sports-related careers.
  3. Support students’ physical, social, and emotional well-being.

Collaboration & Professional Growth

  1. Participate in Learning Action Cell (LAC) sessions, in-service trainings, and professional development programs.
  2. Collaborate with colleagues, coaches, and community partners to enrich learning experiences.
  3. Contribute to school activities, sports events, and outreach programs.


Qualifications Standard

Bachelor's degree relevant to the area of specialization plus 18 professional units in Education; or any Bachelor's degree and completion of technical-vocational course(s) in the area of specialization plus 18 professional units the area of specialization
