Job Description

The Senior High School Teacher I is responsible for teaching core subjects under the Academic Track (Grades 11–12) such as Oral Communication, Reading and Writing, General Mathematics, Statistics and Probability, Earth and Life Science, Physical Science, Personal Development, and Understanding Culture, Society, and Politics. The role ensures that learners are prepared for higher education, employment, entrepreneurship, and lifelong learning, in accordance with the K–12 curriculum standards of the Department of Education (DepEd).

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Delivery

1. Prepare and deliver lessons aligned with DepEd’s Senior High School curriculum.
2. Teach assigned core subjects using varied instructional strategies (lectures, discussions, collaborative learning, ICT integration).
3. Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent learning.

Classroom Management

1. Maintain discipline and order in the classroom.
2. Create an inclusive environment that respects diversity and promotes active participation.
3. Foster a culture of respect, responsibility, and academic integrity.

Assessment & Evaluation

1. Design, administer, and grade formative and summative assessments.
2. Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
3. Maintain accurate records of student performance in compliance with DepEd policies.

Student Development

1. Guide learners in developing academic, social, and emotional competencies.
2. Provide mentoring and career guidance aligned with SHS exit goals (college, employment, entrepreneurship, middle-level skills).
3. Identify students needing additional support and coordinate with guidance counselors or specialists.

Collaboration & Professional Growth

1. Participate in Learning Action Cell (LAC) sessions, in-service trainings, and professional development programs.
2. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and school programs.
3. Contribute to school activities, events, and community engagement initiatives.
