Job Description

The Junior High School Teacher I is responsible for delivering quality instruction to students in Grades 7–10. This role ensures that learners acquire subject-specific knowledge, critical thinking skills, and values essential for their academic and personal development, in line with the K–12 curriculum standards set by the Department of Education (DepEd).

Key Responsibilities

Instructional Delivery

  1. Prepare and implement lesson plans aligned with DepEd’s K–12 curriculum.
  2. Teach assigned subject(s) such as English, Mathematics, Science, Filipino, Araling Panlipunan, MAPEH, or TLE.
  3. Use varied teaching strategies (lecture, discussion, group work, ICT integration) to engage learners.

Classroom Management

  1. Maintain discipline and order in the classroom.
  2. Foster an inclusive and respectful learning environment.
  3. Encourage active participation and collaboration among students.

Assessment & Evaluation

  1. Design, administer, and grade formative and summative assessments.
  2. Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.
  3. Record and report grades in compliance with DepEd policies.

Student Development

  1. Support learners’ social, emotional, and moral growth.
  2. Provide guidance and mentoring to students as needed.
  3. Identify learners requiring additional support and coordinate with guidance counselors or specialists.

Collaboration & Professional Growth

  1. Participate in Learning Action Cell (LAC) sessions, in-service trainings, and professional development programs.
  2. Work with colleagues to improve teaching practices and school programs.
  3. Contribute to school activities, events, and community engagement initiatives.


Qualifications Standard

Bachelor's Degree in Education; or Bachelor's Degree in relevant subject or learning area with at least 18 professional units in Education

K. Checklist of Requirements and Omnibus Sworn Statement on the Certification on the Authenticity and Veracity (CAV) of the documents submitted and Data Privacy Consent pursuant to RA No. 10173 (Data Privacy Act of 2012), using the attached Form (Annex A) or (https://bit.ly/Annex-A-checklistofrequirements), notarized by an authorized official (2 copies)*
